macro friday - another buggy edition

The time: Mid summer afternoon.

The place: In my pink geraniums on the front porch.

The bug: I have no idea what it is.

He looked like he was having a pretty good time, so I ran for my camera. So I could share him with you.

I took this last picture from further away. Sometimes, I like to show you what the real view was before Macro. Can you see him?

I hope he doesn’t try to sneak in my front door. He may not be so cute if I see him inside my house.

macro friday - mountain pinks

Last year when I saw these beautiful flowers sprouting in my neighbor’s yards…..they had me curious. First of all, what were they? Second, where could I get some?

What I learned after a trip to my local garden center is they are called Mountain Pinks or Phlox and that my friends, is where I picked up my first 4 little pots of them. The thing I love about them [well besides the adorable little flowers that bloom in the Spring]…..is that these plants creep around and cover the area where you plant them. Kind of like a blanket of flowers.

A garden area in the making.

Sigh. I love Macro Friday and having the opportunity to take pictures of flowers I’ve grown on my own.
