looking back

I thought it might be fun for today’s post…..to pull up a picture from this very month. Different year.

Confession: I am one of those moms who almost always has a camera with me. Even when dropping this little girl off at school. It was snowing and I just happened to catch her looking back at me. It’s love.

There is one thing I have learned about taking pictures. Never give up. If your kids are like mine, they will almost never look at you and smile and give you the cutest picture ever. You have to work for it. Keep clicking. And clicking. And clicking. Because when you push your camera card into your laptop, you might just be surprised. I’ve taken some of my best pictures in places you would least expect.

file4Like the time Emily was standing in the bathtub fully clothed. I wrote a post called “a bathtub photoshoot” back in August 2009. I thought it was hysterical that Emily wanted to just stand in the tub like that….so I snapped a few pictures and I ended up changing one of the pictures to black and white and framed it.

I would have never gotten this picture if I gave up. Now go have some fun taking pictures. Anywhere. Everywhere. It’s your life and your memories. Have fun capture them.

16 months

Lilybird. 16 months. You are a very inquisitive little girl & I’m pretty sure we could get a job testing things to see if they are safe for young children.

You are quite a handful but such a FUN little girl! And even though you always sneak Emily’s sippy cup when she’s not looking……I know she loves you too!

Thank you for keeping your pigtails in long enough for me to get this picture. XOXO

15 months

Lilybird. Those days back when I was pregnant with you and daydreaming about what you would look like, what your personality would be like, would you have the same chromosome disorder as your sister.

You have surpassed anything we could have ever imagined. And more!

You are a blessing my little bird.

Happy 15 months! e-i-e-i-o
