Welcome to another installment of the Crossroads Quilt Along brought to you by The Fat Quarter Shop and the letter F - Q and S.
I still can’t believe it’s already been a month since we made our Friendship blocks.
This month we are making our family blocks and you can download the pattern, RIGHT HERE.
I don’t care how poor a man is; if he has family, he’s rich. ~Dan Wilcox and Thad Mumford, “Identity Crisis,” M*A*S*H
As I was cutting my pieces this week, I was thinking about how wonderful it is to be putting this quilt together in monthly installments. Lets admit it …. a quilt with this much detail could become overwhelming and you may even give up if you tried to make it all at once.
HELPFUL TIP: Don’t forget to use your alphabitties to mark the fabrics you cut. If you’re like me …. not doing so can result in quilt disasters & alot of time spent with your seam ripper. I speak from experience.
Four family blocks are now ready to join the rest of the Crossroads blocks.
I mentioned this last month ….. but I know this looks like an awful lot of greens and blues ….. this my lovelies, is where we practice patience.
Whether you are using the Strawberry Fields Revisted kit that the Fat Quarter Shop offered, or you chose your own fabrics …. you will have a chance to introduce more colors into your quilt when we do the sashing, make the intersection blocks & the borders.
The monthly pattern downloads, fabric requirements and all of the support from the blogging team & Fat Quarter Shop are FREE for all of you ….but don’t forget this quilt along is also to benefit the March of Dimes. #payitforward

Hi Tina,
Are you using a kit or choosing your own colors?
