#farmgirl fridays | sewing farm girl style

IMG_0532Hello there Farm Girls!

Farm Girl Fridays: {a weekly sew along hosted by Lori & the Fat Quarter Shop} connecting with friends, choosing new fabrics, learning how to make some blocks that maybe we’ve never made before, sharing our projects, inspiring each other, and adding some cuteness to our homes farm girl style. #farmgirlfridays

Some of us stayed on task ….. and some of us {cough cough} were all over the place with these blocks. Quilting ADD.

IMG_0660If you are new here and didn’t participate in the sew along….. it’s never to late to start.

IMG_0661Just pull some of your favorite fabrics, open your book, put a new blade in your rotary cutter, pick one of your favorite blocks and start creating.

IMG_5012Oh, hello there … I’m so glad you stopped by!

It’s #farmgirlfriday and I am one of this weeks guest bloggers.

It has been so fun sewing along farm girl style with Lori of Bee in My Bonnet & The Fat Quarter Shop. This week we are making the Sunny Sunflower block just in time to add to our cozy cottage fall decor.

IMG_3545 (2)Start by choosing some of your favorite fabrics …… and letting your imagination run wild. #becreative

IMG_4043You can use different fabric combinations with the Sunny Sunflower block for a different look everytime. Fun right?

IMG_4044INSPIRATION IDEA #1: Not only can you use a variety of fabrics to change the look of each block….. you can also pick out 3 more of your favorite farm girl vintage blocks and make a mini quilt like Jedicraftgirl and I did during our quilt retreat in August.

IMG_3624Sewing with friends is priceless and creating this farm girl mini to remember our time together is the icing on the cupcake.

IMG_4713INSPIRATION IDEA #2: With a new stack of fabrics, I made two of the 12″ blocks with a 1 ½” sashing in between …..for a small Sunny Sunflower runner.

IMG_4714They really make sweetest homemade gifts!

IMG_4711If you haven’t picked up your copy of Lori Holt’s Farm Girl Vintage book yet ….. no worries, it’s never too late to start sewing and this book is packed with lots of cute projects to choose from.

Be sure to stop by Lori’s blog, and Fat Quarter Shop’s Farm Girl Vintage sew-along page for more inspiration. Thank you Fat Quarter Shop and Lori for inviting me to join in on the quilty fun! #farmgirlfridays
