It was a blustery overcast day, I was watching all the Quilt Market fun {from my phone} - wishing I was there, Emily was not feeling well all week …. and then my Sew Sampler from Fat Quarter Shop arrived. #sewsampler

What a funtastic way to cheer up “one of those days”. We all have them …. and sometimes they just can’t be avoided.

It was a little like Christmas morning opening the box to find 2 charm packs of Lori Holt’s new line Cozy Christmas & all those other sewing treasures.

Is it worth it?

Oh yes!

Think about it, we probobly spend more money each month on fast food, or buying things we don’t need.

It’s an exciting surprise package to look forward to each month & if there are things you don’t love in your box ….. stash them aside for gifts.

Bloom Sew Along - Block 9

Hello there friends. Thanks for stopping by today for a peek at Block #9 of the Bloom Sew Along.

I chose this dreamy fabric called Chatsworth by Emily Taylor Designs for Riley Blake fabrics.

There are so many great ways to applique ….. personally I like a little more of a rustic style with raw edges. Adds a little charm don’t you think?

I just trace the shape onto heat n bond …. then iron to the back of my fabric and cut them both out together. That helps to hold your pieces in place while you top stitch around your shapes.

a cozy cottage for all seasons

A fresh new calendar. It’s something we look forward to each year. We take down the old one and hang up the new…. wondering what the new year will have in store for us.

This coming year, not only do we have new adventures to look forward to…… but we also have 12 months of inspiring pictures in Lori Holt’s new 2016 Cozy Cottage calendar.

If that wasn’t exciting enough, it also includes a pattern for this cute cottage style house.

You can make a pillow, a table runner, or even a larger comfy Cozy Cottage quilt. You choose.

After getting started with a spooky cute halloween cottage for Fall ….. I couldn’t stop there.

I needed to make a cozy cottage for each of the four seasons.

So I made a Winter Cozy Cottage ……

and of course Quilty Kitty helped supervise. #kittyquilter

Wrap yourself in your favorite quilt and sip on hot chocolate with marshmallows in this cozy cottage.

When winter is over we will start to see nature come back to life.

It’s so refreshing to wake up to bird chirping & the sun shining a little brighter.

Welcome to the Springtime Cozy Cottage .

Last but not least I made a Summertime Cozy Cottage…..

where the days are filled with running through sprinklers, picnics, lazy days on the beach, the smell of suntan lotion & sunshiney days.

The Fall Cozy Cottage was full of kitties, fabric, and leftover Halloween candy! BOO!

It will be so fun starting a new tradition with our Cozy Cottage for Every Season.
